Abbey Mill is conveniently situated both for those walking Hadrian’s Wall and those travelling north or south, Abbey Mill is one mile from Banks, on the Wall, and a short drive from Carlisle towards the east, two miles east-north-east of the attractive market town of Brampton. It is also no more than a short walk from the English Heritage site of Lanercost Priory.

 

This restored 17th Century Mill is the home of David and Gillian Bamford. Whether you are looking for rest and refreshment after a day’s walking, a comfortable place to break your journey on the way north or south or a few days of peace and quiet away from the hurly burly of city life, we look forward to welcoming you to our idiosyncratic house.
